We are working with the youngest through a new project ‘Raising awareness about traffic safety through education’.

Citizens’ Association NEŠTO VIŠE from 12.02 to 11.11.2024 implements the project “Raising awareness about traffic safety through education” for preschool and school-age children from grades I to IX. This project is being implemented within the framework of the Regional Programme on Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 (ReLOaD 2), funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with the support of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.

The project will involve approximately 120 preschool children (children before starting school) from 2 kindergartens: “More nade” within the Center “Vladimir Nazor” and “Mašnica” at the Public Institution “Djeca Sarajeva”.

Additionally, students from grades I to IX of all primary schools in the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and from the Center “Vladimir Nazor”, totaling around 4000 students, will be included.

In the FIRST phase of the project, in the months of April, May, June, September, October, and November 2024, traffic safety education will be conducted in schools through presentations and interactive lectures by experienced lecturers.

The SECOND phase of the project, in the months of April, May, June, September, October, and November, includes 3 educational workshops related to traffic: Safe cycling and e-scooter driving education; Making models of traffic infrastructure using 3D modeling; Robotics and electronics in traffic. Workshop sessions will be scheduled in the afternoons at the International Center for Children and Youth in Grbavica.

In September 2024 (European Mobility Week), an internal fun-educational traffic competition will be held at Vilsonovo šetalište for schools participating in the project (with an emphasis on bicycle and scooter safety).
