-Study visit to Banja Luka 23/05/2016

Thursday, today a team of our practitioners, professional associates and staff of Something More visited Banja Luka, and two strategically important partners. We first visited the Faculty of Agriculture in Banja Luka, where we were wonderfully hosted by Dragan Brković, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Željko Vaško and Petar Nikolić, and with their kind colleagues, first presented the teaching and scientific programs at the faculty, and introduced us to the contents of the institute and laboratory at this institution. Thank you for your kindness, we learned a lot today, and we are inspired by your enthusiasm and the results you achieve in the world of agriculture and rural development.
Then we visited our colleagues from CERD (Center for Economy and Rural Development) from Banja Luka. After director Miodrag Matavulj and staff Bojan Čikić and Petar Ninić presented the organization, goals, projects and the magazine Moje selo, we had a constructive dialogue in which we exchanged ideas about potential activities of our colleagues in their new center they are building in Krnete ( 25 km from Banja Luka). We talked about our experiences on the demonstration farm, about the importance of internships for agronomy students, and we even got a chance to suggest some potential columns in a magazine published by CERD. We thank our kind colleagues, it was pleasant and instructive for us to meet in this way, and we even agreed on some concrete future projects. We are looking forward to the return visit of our today’s hosts, we will be glad to return the kindness on our farm.
Activities are organized within the Slightly More project “Support to Agricultural Development in Herzegovina”, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
