10/01/2015 – a cheerful and curious company of 23 of us, mostly composed of young agronomists and those who will soon become so, today visited “Šumski plod” d.o.o. Window-Frame.
The owner and director of the company, Mr. Mirza Đogić, with his great team of young experts, waited for us very hospitably and dedicated his time to us to spend and tell us the story of the Forest Fruit.
He introduced us to the space, refrigerators, equipment and machines, as well as the technology of processing, packaging and preparation of products for the final customer. We heard a story about mushrooms, wild strawberries, plantation wild strawberries, cranberries, rose hips, and of course about blackberries and raspberries, which have been a hit among producers in Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent years. We tried yellow raspberries, which are still very rare in BiH.
Participants were particularly interested to hear that this company is on the rise, and that its staff is interested in expanding the team soon – so more new forces, agronomists and technologists will be needed in the foreseeable future. We also listened to an interesting story about building young agronomists who work in this company, and whose owner finds various ways to train and improve them through education with older colleagues and a lot of work in the field.
In the end, we mostly talked about the way this company works with subcontractors, who can bring all the products for purchase, where everyone has subcontractors who grow berries and berries, and about details related to the methodology of growing blackberries and raspberries, including recommended varieties, and the diseases and protective agents most commonly applied.
We agreed that the education of producers in the field, before embarking on investing in berry plantations, is very important, and in this regard we will improve the cooperation between Forest Fruit and its experts and UG Something More.
Citizens’ Association Something More expresses its great respect and appreciation for the staff of this respectable company, which today has enabled us to bring young future professionals from the world of agriculture to motivate them to fight further and more enthusiastically seek their place in the labor market.
