The Association of Citizens Nešto Više organized an expert lecture on the topic “Wintering bees” in the Meeting Room of the Business Incubator in Trebinje on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. years.
Lecturer, M.Sc. Radivoje Maksimović, presented the activities that need to be carried out in the apiary during the summer and autumn in order to properly prepare bee colonies for the winter.
Part of the lecture was dedicated to the most dangerous and widespread bee diseases in our region, as well as measures for prevention and treatment of bees, both in organic and conventional beekeeping.
For the very end of today’s lecture, Radivoje offered several different types of varietal honey for testing and recognition (acacia, meadow, chestnut and honeydew).
The lecture was held within the project “Support to Agricultural Development in Herzegovina” implemented by UG Nešto Više, and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
