“Nešto Više” is looking for two consultants for the position of mentor on the project

In the framework of the project Life skills for the future-let’s learn, let’s do it! (Life skills for the future-we learn, we work!), Citizen’s Association Nešto Više is looking for two consultants as mentors for a period of three months (March, April and May 2012), for the regions of Mostar and Banja Luka. The project is supported by the MDG-F Youth Employment and Retention Program. Job description for mentors:

Work with teachers and students in YERP communities (Mostar region: 5 schools in Mostar, 3 schools in Trebinje, 2 schools in Široki Brijeg and Livno; Banja Luka, and 2 schools in Prijedor, Bihać and Doboj)

School visits(once or twice a month per school, estimated at around 7 hours per month per school, which includes preparation and reporting time)

Providing technical assistance, support and mentoring in the field (in schools) to teachers and students during the contract period

Assisting the project coordinator in collecting tender documents for small grants to schools

Asisting teachers and students in the implementation of student enterpreneurship projects

Cooperation with school management

Preparation of monthly progress reports after each training

Mentors will be selected based on the following criteria:

Experience working with local schools

Experience in working with teachers and students (preferably in the field of entrepreneurship development)

Experience in mentoring in schools

Observation skills

Mobility

Monthly fees for mentors:

Mostar region-760 KM

Banja Luka region-800 KM, which includes the costs of telephone, travel and work.

General description of mentors’ tasks:

Entrepreneurship sections will be established in schools consisting of 10 students and one teacher as a section leader who will work with them based on the developed work module. The mentor’s task is to ensure that the section in each school runs according to the dynamics planned by the module, to provide support during the contract period of three months, and to communicate with the Project Coordinator on progress in the region and other tasks from the duty list.

The mentor will, according to estimates, work about 7 hours with each school per month, assisting teachers and assisting students. Working hours will be flexible and will be adapted to teachers and students.

Mentors will prepare monthly progress reports, during the contract period. Mentors will be hired according to the procedures prepared by the project team. During mentoring, each mentor will perform their duties in collaborration with the project coordinator.
