-CONTRACTED INTERNSHIP PLACES FOR CSBSJ STUDENTS IN MOSTAR

During the second hald of January 2012, contacts were established with several non-governmental organizations and institutions in BiH in order to select quality internship opportunities for American students from the College of Saint Benedict/ Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University (CSBSJU). For the summer internship of students from this partner institution, nine candidates have been selected for 2012, three of whom will be accommodated in Mostar, Sarajevo and Banja Luka.

For now, meetings  have been held and confirmed internships for students in Mostar: Nansen Dialogue Center (NDC), a meeting was held with director Elvira Đuliman, Center for Children and Youth with Special Needs Los Rosales, a meeting was held with director Aida Milavić, and the Association of Parents and friends of people with special needs Sunce, a meeting held to director Erna Kotlo. Students who will be interns at these organizations are Lindsay Brull (NDC), Kyra Knoff (Los Rosales) and Jenna Franklin (Sun). In the coming period, the staff of UGNV will work with representatives of these organizations on the development of job descriptions for interns, in order to plan eight working weeks of internships (May 21-July 13, 2012) as well as possible.

NV staff has established quality contacts with organizations in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, with the same goal. As soon as the weather conditions allow, meetings will be organized with representatives of organizations in these cities, in order to confirm the places of internship, and work on the next steps in preparing a job description for interns.

On this occasion, the NV staff would like to thank all those who have expressed their willingness to cooperate on the Summer Internship project for American students in BiH. 2012 will be  the fifth year of this project.
