Background: Life skills for the future-let’s learn, let’s do it! (Life skills for the future-we learn, we work!) (01.12.2011-30.09.2012.) is a project that will be implemented with students in 50 primary schools from 17 YERP municipalities: Sarajevo, East Sarajevo, Zenica, Vitez, Goražde, Mostar, Trebinje, Široki Brijeg, Livno, Banja Luka, Doboj, Prijedor, Bihać, Tuzla, Bijeljina, Odžak and Brčko. The main goal of the project is to develop the key life skills of students in grades VII, VIII nad IX of primary schools through active learning for entrepreneurship in order to increase competitiveness in the labor market.

Learning entrepreneurship through work encourages a more appropriate way of thinking for children and young people and is a preparation for new economic trends in human resources development. It is therefore important to develop upbringing and education for entrepreneurship from an early age.

By encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset and developing and entrepreneurial spirit in children, the project will i the long run contribute to increasing the employability and efficiency of the social and economic security system. This project represents an initial step towards integrating life skills in entrepreneurship into curricula and the education system in general.

“Terms of Reference”:

In cooperation with the coordinator and staff of the project, the Expert/Consultant should, in cooperation with other selected Experts/ Consultants, create a module “Learning life skills in entrepreneurship” based on the principle: ” Learning through work”, intended for primary school students ( VII, VIII, AND IX grade).

The module should serve as a basis for Coaches, Mentors and Teachers as a basic tool for learning and training students in selected schools in the field of entrepreneurship, and later as a successful model that would be applied in all other schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The module should be based on theory and practical work through innovative approaches to learning through play, ie work, in order to better understand life skills, their importance and impact on future employment opportunities.

The Module needs to provide life skills learning based on experience and activities for acquiring entrepreneurial competence in a way that students explore opportunities in the economic, social and cultural environment through the development of their own entrepreneurial projects.

The module should be created for a group size of 10 students, ie all students in the group should be actively involved during 30 effective hours (10 hours per month).

This modul should contain:

Theoretical part on the basics of entrepreneurship adapted to children of VII, VIII and IX grades of primary schools for the acquisition of basic life skills in entrepreneurship.

The practical part where children would be introduced in a fun way to the process of “brainstorming”, ie creating a quality entreprenurial idea, then to present them with a picture of planning and making a mini business plan that would include specifying the necessary resources for successful implementation and market research, and promoting your own business. All this should result in the development and implementation of a small entreprenurial project by a group of students.

The process of creating the Module will include 4 Experts/ Consultants who will need to communicate with each other and together create the Module and all the necessary documentation and instructions.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The tasks and responsibilities of the Expert/Consultant are:

Development of Modules with all necessary materials and instructions, adapted to work with children VII, VIII and IX grade.

Cooperation with the coordinator and project staff as well as cooperation with other members of the expert team and if necessary, with relevant educational institutions.

Create a Module with all the necessary materials and instructions in the alloted time.

Required qualifications:

The preparation of the Module requiresfour Experts/ Consultants who need to meet one of the listed categories of criteria:

A) 1 person B) 2 people C) 1 person

A) Previous experience with the applied approach in entrepreneurship.

Excellent knowledge of language and entrepreneurial terminology.

Good organizational skills;

Experience in teamwork.

University degree

B)

Previous experience in planning and developing educational trainings/modules in the field of entrepreneurship

Excellent knowledge of the language

Good organizational skills;

C)

Previous experience in applying new teaching methods in primary schools

The activity will be supervised by project coordinators and staff who will be actively involved in creating a group of experts, linking them and developing modules through teamwork.
