Workshop “Leadership and followership” for Girls and Women

Today, on our permaculture estate in Humilišani, we held the first workshop in the framework of the project “Strengthening the leadership skills of girls and women in the region of Mostar”. Of small girls, girls, to the ladies of the golden age, they painted the farm and cheered up girls and women from the Woman Association “Vrba” from Mostar (Gnojnice).

The theme of the workshop was “Leadership and fellowship”, with an emphasis on the self-esteem of the leaders, and to dispel myths about leaders and followers. We have considered both sides of the coin and concluded that the leadership and fellowship are complementary and not competitive processes, and to do both of these roles, one needs commitment, knowledge and intelligence. We did a couple of tests of self-assessment, in order to ask the more provocative questions which can push us to take a more active role in our society. We also talked about desires to cooperate in future because we have a lot of similarities, of which precede the one we want to develop our local community for the benefit of all citizens of BiH. Also, we want to draw attention to the decisions that leaders make can have a significant impact on nature and that it is very important that this influence is positive.
In addition to the theoretical part during the touring facilities on the property, the participants had the opportunity to learn and practically see all the ways in which we keep the energy and resources, and how to classify waste, and use it in order to have as bigger sustainability of our permaculture farm.

The workshop was organised in the framework of our project “Strengthening leadership skills of girls and women in the Mostar region through educational workshops and videos, and through promotional campaign” which is supported by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.
