Association of citizens “Nešto Više” with each action and project wants to show that we are surrounded by nature which can give us a lot. With the support we received from the American embassy through the project Julia Taft, we managed to install a big solar system on our farm in Humilišani. The solar system consists of photovoltaic panels and electronics for the production of electric energy, which will in sunny days be enough for our daily needs. The main purpose of the installed solar system is to allow us to dry fruit, vegetables and herbs in our solar drier which is connected with one more kind of solar panels i.e. thermal solar panel for heating hot water which serves to dry plants. The advantages of solar systems are multiple and we want to, with the practical example, show to all those with whom we cooperate, but also a wider audience, how using this system can give us all a lot. Next to the clean and free electrical energy that we use, these systems reduce the need for fossil fuels which are used in the production of electrical energy, and thus reduces the amount of CO2 in the air and other harmful elements such as sulphur, dust and the like.
