04/06/2016 Wednesday, WHAT A DAY! Today, the most energetic team in Herzegovina managed to first install irrigation systems and foils on half of a 500m2 greenhouse, and plant 1571 seedlings – patiently, smartly, and after demonstrating and explaining how and why each separate type of seedlings is planted. The planting plan and all the preparations, as well as the organization of the team for today, were fantastically done by our young expert associate Muhamed Garib! The seedlings were brought to us this morning by the kind Boris from Adria Histil (Gabela, Čapljina) around 8:00 am, and the team has already started work on preparing for planting. We would like to commend our partners from Adria Histil, especially agronomist Ivica Borovac, with whom we worked directly. And here’s why: throughout the preparation process we had support, after the presentation of our farm and what we do, and based on the geographical area we received professional support regarding the selection of vegetable varieties, everything we agreed was respected to the last detail. And today, during the planting, we discovered two things: (1) in addition to what we ordered, we received 154 free seedlings, and (2) but EXACTLY every seedling is healthy, beautiful, cheerful, without any damage (also, well done for packaging!).
It may turn out that we are advertising someone, but these people, with their quality of business and great products, probably don’t need additional advertising. As for us: hat to the floor, we will praise them everywhere.
Our practitioners are only more beautiful and better than seedlings ♥ – what a team, they are amazing! What kind of energy it is, you can’t really tell. Employers, pay attention – and only if you are looking for bright, hard-working and creative young people who would give them a chance to develop and advance as professionals.
Ten of us, so on average 160 seedlings each (not counting other tasks). At today’s temperature, it’s a real feat!
One of the additional good news is that Amila Hodžić visited us on the farm today, in front of our donors and partners from USAID. Although she had prepared to plant with us, she unfortunately had to leave us very soon due to an urgent call. Some other time 😉
Tired hands and sore legs / back – rest, get some sleep, you deserve it! Tomorrow in new victories – with joy for the next three tasks: SOS kindergarten workshop, activities in hydroponics (salad, chard, preparation of two more tubs for cucumber), and planting action with our friends from the Elementary School Drežnica in their yard!
