-HACCP training for staff and practicioners Nešto Više

UG Nešto Više je 16.12.2014. started the process of training from the HACCP standard for staff and some interns, and within the project Support to Agricultural Development in Herzegovina, which is financially supported by USAID. The training lasted a total of four intensive days, and consisted of theoretical presentations, practical exercises in pairs and small teams, field visits to a company that already practices HACCP in its production process, reviewing documentation and listening to trainers’ experiences, and taking internal tests. The first of the four days of training was informative and interesting, with lots of exercises and practical examples.
The second day was even more interesting – with team problem-solving exercises, to work on documentation for the HACCP standard on three different examples.
The third day was very exciting: we visited the Herzegovinian brewery that works according to HACCP standards, where we were greeted by friendly staff. Smiljan and Dijana introduced us to the brewery building, and then Dijana Mandić kindly took us through the production facilities and all stages of production: we saw where and how four types of beer are made, carbonated and non-carbonated Leny juices, and Herzegovinian water. We asked, talked about HACCP norms, learned a lot from the example of this company.
At the end of the visit, the friendly hosts treated us to their products in the guest office, where we further discussed the experiences related to HACCP.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleague Himzi Tule from REDAH, who helped us to establish contact with our hosts today, and once again we thank the friendly staff of Hercegovacka pivovara for their openness and kindness to share their experiences with us.
The second part of the day is dedicated to discussing what we have learned, and clarifying details about HACCP, the importance and role of internal and external auditors. At the end of today, all participants took a test for internal HACCP auditors.
As our colleagues Duško and Aleksandar are not able to be with us on the last day of training, the kind trainer Dr. Iuliana Grigoriu with her associates Mr. Vito Marega and Mrs. Teo Zerdelić immediately scored their tests, which they successfully passed.
After our colleagues were presented with certificates for HACCP internal auditors, we completed today’s part of the training.
On the fourth day of the training, we worked on the final details, discussed various issues that may find us on the field and listened to the specific experiences of the coaches. We also saw what the final document of an external HACCP auditor looks like and how it is made.
At the end of the training, the test results were read: all candidates passed the test, and obtained a diploma that testifies to the successful completion of training for the development, implementation and internal audit of HACCP (by AgroManagement).
After lunch, our guests visited the experimental farm Nešto Više in Humilišani.
We thank the coaches, the hosts at the Herzegovinian Brewery, and all the participants: we spent four useful, productive and fun days in pleasant company.
