-FAIR OF ENTREPRENEURIAL/ENTERPRENURIAL PROJECTS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Citizens’ Association “Nešto Više” successfully organized the Fair of Entrepreneurial/ Entreprenurial Projects of Students from 47 Primary Schools from 16 Cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Hollywood Hotel in Sarajevo on June 7, 2012.

The projects are the results of several months of planning, education and realization of students’ ideas, all with the goal of developing students’ life skills for the future in order to one day be more competitive on the labor market. Therefore, special emphasis in this project is given to introducing students to entrepreneurship as one of the key competences. The project was developed and implemented by the Association of Citizens “Nešto Više”in 47 selected schools in 16 municipalities. Students of VII, VIII and IX grades took part in this project.

The specific objectives are:

-Encourage relevant educational institutions, primary school teacher and children to better understand life skills and their impact on future employment opportunities

-Provide life skills and entrepreneurshio learning through an experience during which young people explore opportunities through the economic, social and cultural context through the development of student entrepreneurship projects.

-Promote the developed model of entrepreneurship based on the principle of “learning through work” to relevant stakeholders. The fair was visited by over 550 students and teachers, and a wide range of visitors.

The project “Life skills for the future-we learn, we work” was developed and implemented by the Association of Citizens “Nešto Više” through the MDG-F Youth Employment and Retention Program. The project is supported by MDG-F under the Youth Employment and Retention (YERP) Program launched in 2010 in cooperation with 5 UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNV AND IOM) through the Millennium Development Goals Fund (MDG-F) funded by The Kingdom of Spain, in partnership with the competent entity and cantonal ministries. The program is implemented in 17 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
