The Association of Citizens “Nešto Više” and OKC Banja Luka are 24.09. and 25.09.2011. year, at the Radon Plaza Hotel in Sarajevo, they organized a conference “Study, volunteer, get a job” dedicated to the project “Get a job by volunteering- volunteer to get a job”. Over seventy volunteers and supervisors from Tuzla, Banja Luka and Zenica participated in the conference. As part of the conference, a volunteer action was also held at the Vrace Memorial Park, where volunteers collected garbage. A tourist tour of the city was organized, as well as a street distribution of promotional leaflets to promote volunteering points. We had a lot of interest from the media as well, considering that it was a weekend. Within this project, 15 organizations from 3 university cities, 90 students, 5 universities and 15 supervisors were involved. Students volunteered in 15 organizations and/ or institutions for 4 months and had the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge, but also to contribute to the development of the community in their communities. We marked the end of the project by organizing a two-day conference in Sarajevo where we presented the results of this project as well as the opportunities that volunteering has as a modern form of contribution to society, but also to the individual in general. We also presented the importance of the existence of legal framework in the Republika Srpska regarding volunteering and drew the public’s attention to the non-existence and possibilities that legal frameworks can bring in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by their establishment in this entity.
