Citizen’s Association “Nešto Više” in partnership with the Youth Communication Center from Banja Luka (OKC) wants to contribute to reducing youth unemployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina by strengthening their competitiveness in the labor market by advocating for the adoption and improvement of laws in BiH regarding the recognition of volunteer work.
This project will influence the implementation of the Law on Volunteering of the RS and the Law of Higher Education of the Republika Srpska (RS), campaigns, media actions, lobbying, mobilization of young people, and the adoption of the Law on Volunteering of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), as well as amendments to the FBiH Law on Higher Education. The logic of the intervention is to provide a legal basis for volunteer work throughout BiH, and to ensure the implementation of this legal framework by including organized volunteer work at three BiH universities as a model for acquiring practical knowledge and skills in accordance with labor market requirements.
The main purpose of this project is to provide conditions, in legal and operational terms, for the acquisition of practical knowledge and skills of students in BiH through organized volunteer work in order to improve their competence required in the labor market. In this way, at the same time, the social capital that volunteering brings with it would be institutionally encouraged and provided- civil activism, social cohesion and building positive values of society.
Implementation of the project began in May 2010, and the project lasts 18 months.
The project is supported by the CCI( Centers for Civil Initiatives).
