In partnership with the Tuzla Development and Support Center, the project will serve at least 10, 000 farmers from northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina who will be given the opportunity to implement adaptive solutions in the fight against drought through support measures adopted by responsible state, entity, cantonal and local institutions.
Through training and technical support, the project will directly involve seven agricultural cooperatives (management teams and farmers) and a minimum of 20 government officials to increase capacity to implement innovative drought support measures.
To this end, in addition to assessing the situation on the ground and developing technical solutions, innovations will be practically tested on five pilot farms.
Implementation of the project began in September 2010, and the project lasts 18 months.
The project is supported by USAID.
