the CARE Czech republic and the CARE International Balkans invite You to, on Tuesday 29.1.2019, follow on the meeting of 7 organizations from BiH with the representatives of the Czech embassy and CARE International Balkans. The meeting was organized in the framework of the project Promotion of social services through the strengthening of NGOs in BiH.
Statements for the media will be in 13:15 at hotel Bristol Sarajevo. The media will be addressed by Sumka Bučan, the regional director of CARE International Balkans and Emina Bošnjak, the Executive Director of the Sarajevo open centre (SOC).
The inability of government institutions in BiH to provide adequate social protection to the marginalised and socially vulnerable categories of the population has resulted in the fact that all these vulnerable groups often depend on just of civil society.
Therefore, through this project, the selected 7 organizations will go through an intense program to enhance capacity as they could, through their service, better respond to the needs of the user groups like the LGBTIQ population, the Roma, women victims of violence, persons with difficulties.
The benefit of this program is best illustrated by the example of one of the partner organizations – The Association of persons suffering from cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy from Goražde, which, thanks to this project, started selling their products in Germany. CARE financed the transportation of the first shipment of pillows, slippers, beddings, and other products of cotton and linen for Germany. This is a big step forward for the members of the association, which in this way encourage persons with disabilities to be work engaged.
The project Promotion of social services through the strengthening of NGOs in BiH is implemented by the CARE Czech republic and the CARE International Balkans in cooperation with 7 domestic non-governmental organizations, including the Sarajevo open centre (SOC).
