In recent months, we have been working with 8 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina on developing their social entrepreneurship ideas. The young entrepreneurs are currently refining their presentations in preparation for the upcoming Demo Day, where they will have the opportunity to present their business ideas in front of an expert jury. The two most innovative teams will receive financial and practical support that will allow them to implement their projects during the “incubation phase” and contribute to creating a better and more sustainable region.
RISE – Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs is a support program for young social entrepreneurs, implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina by our organization, UG NEŠTO VIŠE, since 2019. This is the fifth cycle of the free support program for developing social entrepreneurship ideas. The program runs simultaneously in six Balkan countries with the aim of enabling motivated and dedicated young people to develop their ideas and make the region a better place to live.
During the 4-month “ideation phase”, six to eight teams in six countries develop their idea from scratch to a business model. On this journey, they are supported by experts and mentors who guide them through all the important steps in starting a social enterprise. Afterward, two best teams from BiH – 12 teams in total from the region – will be selected to receive additional financial and practical support to implement their idea during the “incubation phase” and further develop their business.
The RISE project is supported by the French Development Agency (AFD), European Union (EU), Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ), PULSE (Groupe SOS), ARNO, Balkan Green Foundation, NEŠTO VIŠE, Smart Kolektiv, IPC Tehnopolis, and Yunus Social Business.
