New Project “Development of a training program for members of municipal/city commissions for gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina”

The Association of Citizens “Nešto Više”, in partnership with Amica Educa and associates Gender Center of the FBiH Government and Gender Center of the RS Government, has started implementing the project “Development of training programs for members of municipal/ city commissions for gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The aim of the project is to strengthen the role and position of women in political, social and economic processes and to support local partnerships in establishing effective mechanisms for gender equality in local communities in BiH.

The expected results are: a functional operating structure within local governments to support the promotion and advocacy of women’s rights established and functional; improved and strengthened capacities of local stakeholders from the public and civil society sectors in 20 local communities for effective implementation of advocacy and promotion of basic human rights with special focus on women from vulnerable categories; a model for strengthening gender equality in local communities developed and successfully applied in 20 BH local communities and ready for replication throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
