03/10/2016 Thursday, tonight was held the third lecture in a series of mushroom growing for beginners, on “Shiitake cultivation” organized by the Association of Citizens Something More within the project Support to Agricultural Development in Herzegovina, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Lecturer prof. dr. This time, Nezir Tanović spoke about the healing properties and importance of shiitake for the prevention and treatment of various diseases of the modern age, and about the extensive cultivation of shiitake on wooden forms. We heard about the intensive way of growing shiitake first hand from the successful grower of this mushroom, Mr. Emilija Mikulić from Široki Brijeg (Fungivita), who was given to us by dr. Tanovic brought a lecturer as a guest. More than 50 participants in the lecture asked a large number of questions to the lecturers, which testifies to the strong interest in growing and consuming shiitake. Precisely because of the expressed interest, Mr. Mikulić invited everyone present to come and visit his mushroom farm in Široki Brijeg, which UG Nešto Više as the organizer of this series will include in the program of a full day workshop on wild mushrooms and medicinal plants in nature.
Next Thursday, March 17, 2016 The last, fourth lecture from this series on the topic of “Mushroom Processing” will be held, starting at 6 pm, also at the Agomediterranean Faculty in Mostar.
