In the period from 28 to 29 October 2014, the second training in a row was held within the project “Improvement of household income through the improvement of the beekeeping sector in the municipalities of Han Pijeska and Rogatica.
Project beneficiaries had the opportunity to listen to a lecture on “Preparing bees for winter and protection from disease.” The lecturers were Slaviša Knežević, B.Sc. in Agriculture, Secretary of the Association of Beekeepers “Glasinac” Sokolac and Dragiša Kovačević, President of the Association of the same name, who is also one of the most advanced Sokolac beekeepers.
The trainings were attended by a total of 40 project beneficiaries.
The training covered the following areas: honey extraction, bee feeding, types of diseases, protection against diseases, treatment and prevention of the spread of infection and much more.
In the following period, two more trainings on the topic will be held. “Honey products, distribution channels and legal regulations”, and education in writing a business plan.
The project is implemented by the Association of Citizens “Something More” in cooperation with the Association LAG Devetak – Han Pijesak and Rogatica and is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
