-11 PROJECTS INTENDED FOR YOUNG BASKETBALL PLAYERS FINANCED

The Association of Citizens “Something More” awarded grants for the implementation of eleven projects of basketball clubs / schools in the total amount of 18,000 KM. The projects are currently being implemented and are intended for young basketball players. The projects were developed by coaches who are part of the International Sports Initiatives program, and who have gone through several phases of training. The process included the arrival of eight American coaches in BiH and the departure of our coaches for a twenty-day training in the USA, with the aim of improving their knowledge and developing new methods to apply in working with young BH basketball players.
Funded projects have been developed so that as many young basketball players as possible get the opportunity to learn and apply the methods that coaches have adopted through this Program. Also, great emphasis is given to the social component where it tries to convey to young people that in addition to sports, they also think about their environment in which they work and live. Clubs and schools involved in the project are: BC BASKET 2000 – BANJA LUKA, BC PLAY OFF – SARAJEVO, BASKETBALL SCHOOL START – TUZLA, BC WBS BASKETBALL – TESLIC, BC LIONS – TUZLA, OKK PRNJAVOR – PRNJAVAS – FK SALIN , BC FINDO – DOBOJ, BC BUDUĆNOST – BIJELJINA, MSŠ BOSANKI PETROVAC – B. PETROVAC and SSŠ SILVIJA KRANJČEVIĆ – LIVNO.
Funding for the program was provided by the US State Bureau of Education and Culture and the United States Embassy in Sarajevo with the Center for Intercultural Education and Development at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, in cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Partner Citizens Association.
