The first of the roundtables organized within the USAID-funded Drought Adaptation Capacity Building in Agro-Business project was held in Zvornik on November 24, 2011.
The round table brought together farmers and local government representatives in Zvornik, with the aim of discussing possible measures to support local authorities in adapting farmers to drought.
The round table was attended by 20 participants, including representatives of the Department of Economy, Agriculture and Social Affairs of the Municipality of Zvornik, representatives of the Municipal Assembly of Zvornik, representatives of agricultural cooperatives Vocar, Prunus and Agropodrinje from Zvornik, farmers and representatives of organizations implementing the project- CRP Tuzla and Nešto Više.
It was concluded that the initated activites will continue in order to better inform the local government about the problems of drought, as well as the presentation of efficient irrigation systems and models of support to the agricultural sector in general.
