Public Call for individuals from Banovići interested in starting their own business

NGO “Nešto Više,” in collaboration with the Municipality of Banovići and other partners comprising the Local Employment Partnership Banovići (LEP Banovići), invites interested individuals to apply for participation in the “START YOUR BUSINESS” training within the “Partnership for Employment” project, implemented under the European Union’s “Support to Local Employment Partnerships – Phase II” (LEP II) program funded with 4 million euros by the European Union and implemented by the International Labour Organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The public call targets unemployed individuals from the Municipality of Banovići who wish to start their own business, offering financial and advisory support from the mentioned partnership.

Following the completion of a 3-day training, participants will develop business plans, and a committee will select the top 4 plans to receive support of 6,800 BAM each.

The funds can be used to co-finance the purchase of equipment, essential working assets, and consumables. The funds are non-refundable under the condition that they are fully utilized for the development of registered businesses.

Eligible to participate in the business idea and development support program are adults interested in registering a business in the Municipality of Banovići. Priority will be given to:

  • Currently unemployed and inactive young men and women
  • Unemployed women
  • Long-term unemployed individuals registered with the employment office for more than 12 months
  • Groups with low participation in the labor market (minorities, persons with disabilities, unemployed individuals over 50 years of age)
  • Unemployed individuals with lower levels of education or without formal education
  • Individuals facing barriers to employment, including those who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Candidates should have:

  • High motivation to start a business independently
  • Some personal funds for business operations
  • Ability to define a clear business idea

The training will be conducted by certified trainers following the ILO methodology in August – September 2022, depending on trainer availability.

Applications are to be filled out at the LPZ Banovići office (ground floor of the BKC/city cinema).

During the three-day training “How to generate a business idea and How to start a business,” candidates will have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge for business idea development and business plan consolidation, including:

  • Business plan development
  • Marketing plan
  • Employment
  • Organization and management
  • Procurement
  • Determining costs of products and services
  • Financial planning
  • Initial capital
  • Business plan refinement

Advisory support will be provided to authors of the highest-rated business plans. This support package includes ongoing collaboration with candidates and advice on registration and further business development. Owners of newly registered companies/businesses will be required to participate in the “Improve your business” three-day training, covering the following modules:

  • Costs
  • Marketing
  • Business planning
  • Procurement and inventory control
  • Accounting
  • People and productivity

This structured support ensures the long-term development of the best business plans and reduces the risk of business stagnation or potential closure. Financial and advisory support is provided by partnership members, namely trainers for the implementation of ILO’s “Start Your Business” and “Improve Your Business” packages. Regular attendance and active participation in the training sessions are prerequisites for receiving support in starting and managing a business.

All candidates will receive detailed information during the training regarding the criteria for evaluating the quality of business plans.

The Local Employment Partnership LPZ Banovići is one of 20 partnerships established in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the “Support to Local Employment Partnerships – Phase II” (LEP II) project, funded with 4 million euros by the European Union and implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
