In cooperation with the Association of Beekeepers “Matica” from Grude, the Association of Citizens Something More organized an expert lecture on “Bee Diseases and Prevention” on Friday, 05.06.2015. in the cinema hall in Grude.
The lecturer was mr.sci. Radivoje Maksimović, and the lecture was attended by about twenty beekeepers from Grude. Infectious and non-communicable diseases of bees, different approaches and ways of their prevention were discussed, as well as measures that need to be taken after the diseases are detected.
Most attention is paid to the American plague and varroasis, the most dangerous diseases that attack bees in our area. Modern approaches to preventive activities and experiences of experienced beekeepers in eliminating the consequences of diseases of bee colonies were discussed.
The lecture was held within the project Support to Agricultural Development in Herzegovina, implemented by the Association of Citizens “Something More”, and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
