The official exporter of watermelon for the needs of the project was the company Agroneretva d.o.o. from Mostar, which provided the necessary export documentation and the buyer in Norway is BAMA. The delivery of watermelons to Norway took place on August 12, 2011. Connecting local farmers with Norwegian partners and providing appropriate training on growing and monitoring the cultivation of selected crops is economically justified quantities has proven to be a good example of joint cooperation between Ljubinje and Ravni. This project of successful export of 20 tons of seedless watermelon, type bosotn, for the demanding new market will certainly open new opportunities for other agricultural products from BiH. BiH’s current exports to Norway amount to KM 12.9 million (NOK 52.5 million) of which KM 730,000 is food exports, which indicates great opportunities, which with good organization of work we can use much better.
