12/19/2015 Hotel Park, Livno: Association of Citizens Something More, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of Hercegbosna County and the Association of Agricultural Producers “Stolisnik”, Livno organized an expert lecture on “Agricultural production in protected areas” led by Dr. Omer Kurtović, director of the Federal Institute of Agriculture Sarajevo and an expert in vegetable growing and production in protected areas.
Dr. In just over three hours, Kurtović presented the most important details about growing vegetables in protected areas, including positioning and setting up greenhouses, the most common mistakes to be avoided, the technology of growing individual crops (selection of planting material, method of planting and cultivation, specifics of growing certain crops). , nutrition and protection, identification of diseases and pests, method of pest control, importance of temperature and relative humidity, crop rotation, etc.).
About 20 participants enjoyed a very interesting and interactive gathering, which was shown by the large number of questions that the participants had for Dr. Kurtović in the final part of the lecture.
UG Nešto Više wants to especially praise the young Stolisnik Association from Livno, which proactively tries to offer facilities for farmers and those who intend to become from this region, providing them with new opportunities for learning and progress.
