02/25/2016 Thursday, Tonight, at the Faculty of Agromediterranean in Mostar, starting at 6 pm, the first of four announced lectures on mushrooms for beginners was held. Tonight’s topic was “Wild, economically important mushrooms” through which Prof. dr. Nezir Tanović presented the basic parameters of mushroom growing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including wild mushrooms, as well as mushrooms from cultivation. Prof. dr. Tanović presented edible mushrooms, as well as deadly poisonous and poisonous mushrooms, and pointed out the dangers due to the similarities that can be encountered in the field between these types of mushrooms, which can lead to a fatal outcome for careless collectors and those who consume mushrooms from of nature. He also presented myths about mushrooms that some collectors believe. We also talked about the healing properties of some of the mushrooms, which led to the proposal to organize a full day trip to nature after all four lectures. On that occasion, Prof. dr. Tanović to show the participants some of the mushrooms, but also significant medicinal herbs, and some wild edible plants that we eventually forgot about and stopped consuming. The lecture was attended by 40 participants, most of whom expressed interest in participating in all the following lectures: Cultivation of oyster mushrooms, Cultivation of shiitake, and Mushroom Processing (every following Thursday, starting at 6 pm), and then a full day of outdoor education.
