-Young entrepreneurs on our farm

03/17/2016 Thursday, today we had the largest number of visitors so far on the farm Something More. Our friends from Drežnica Elementary School, Buna Elementary School and the Association of Parents and Friends of People with Special Needs Sunce, together with our dear friends from UNICEF Amel and Anna, the most valuable practitioners far and wide, and NV staff enriched the farm with many flowers. crops, citrus fruits (lemons and tangerines), strawberries, vegetables (potatoes and cabbages), chokeberries, currants, pomegranates and blackberries, and laurel cherries. At six prepared “centers” on the farm, hardworking friends worked in six groups on planting each of the above crops: our practitioners (young agronomists) with practical work on planting, explained to hardworking students how and why each crop is planted in this way. which was done. All the teams did a great job – and the lemon, mandarin and pomegranate seedlings were marked with the names of the groups that planted them, so that in the future we would have a memory of our dear volunteers, while we ate juicy fruit trees. And yes, if they want to visit us after a few years, to know which trees they planted with their group: Kreativstube, Leptirići, Držićani, Seljaci, Ženska snaga and Jagodice ♥ We must especially praise our friends from the Sun: Slađa, Zlata, Emin, Rejhan , Jakija, Majda, Saša, Sadeta, Sabina and Šems – as they are already well-established volunteers on NV farm, today with our great practitioners were the hosts and their “right hand” – real assistants on important tasks of planting flowers, fruits and vegetables. After the work was done, we all had lunch together, sweetened up a bit and drank some juice, and then our friends from Drežnica and Buna had to return to class: they promised to come again to hang out, work and study. These are real young entrepreneurs! We also thank their wonderful teachers Ivana and Sanela, who also made our day.

We are proud of all our participants in today’s action, and only in the coming days will we be able to see how much fine work has been done today. It’s nice when the farm is colorful, loud, when you run around here and there, when you work, have fun, hang out and laugh out loud. We love when the farm is like that!

Today’s action was more than successful, it was better and more beautiful than we hoped, and the greatest credit for that goes to: Muhamed, Vladislav, Mirnesa, Ibrahim, Selmir, Selma, Alida and Vanessa – young experts in practice in NV. Today you have once again surpassed yourself, we are proud of each of you individually, and we are especially proud of you as a great team! Bless your future employers, and they don’t know how lucky they will be when they hire you!

Today’s activities are organized within the project “Life skills for the future – we learn, we work!” which is part of the extensive project “Support to durable solutions of the Revised Strategy for the Implementation of Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement” worth 8.1 million euros funded by the European Union (in the amount of 7 million euros through IPA 2012), and co-financed in the amount of 1.1 , million) and implemented by UNHCR in cooperation with project partners in ten priority municipalities. The project aims to help at least 2,400 vulnerable IDPs and returnees in BiH, including women victims of war, find solutions to the societal challenges they face on a daily basis, through close cooperation between local authorities, local communities, civil society and project partners, together with the Ministry of human rights and refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We especially want to thank Unicef in Bosnia and Herzegovina for everything they do to reach as many young people as possible together, and to teach them Something More!
