27.01.2011 year, three employees of UG Nešto Više attended a workshop in Sarajevo on the topic “Methodology of drafting a LEAP document”. The MDG-F Program ” Standardization of Environmental Management: Connecting Local and State Activities of BiH”, implemented by several United Nations agencies (UNDP, UNV, UNEP, FAO and UNESCO) seeks to identify and overcome some of the main shortcomings in environmental management and the provision of environmental servies at the local level, including poor economic governance, as well as inadequate environmental procetion.
One of the activities of this program is capacity building and support in the development of Local Environmental Action Plans (LEAPs) in partner municipalities, as well as providing conditions for the implementation of priority local environmental management projects. The aim of the workshop was to acquaint all key actors in this process with the adapted methodology for drafting the LEAP document, in order to approach its preparation and drafting unique way in 23 municipalities in BiH.
